Imagine ~ a world in which we overlook the bad qualities or unfortunate situations some of us have been given in life and look for and acknowledge the good within each other, loving our neighbors and friends as we love ourselves.
I am not saying ignore bad behavior or condone harmful or hurtful actions but instead allowing your spirit to shine through by taking in the beauty and ignoring the not so pretty parts that each and every one of us has.
Imagine ~ if we didn’t judge someone by the circumstances in which they were born into, a life of broken fences but see the highest vision for them ~ their beautiful garden yet unrealized, nurturing and verbally affirming from the time they were young they could have a beautiful garden, letting them be aware that they could grow anything they wanted there if they were willing to work hard for it.
Imagine ~ if we didn’t judge appearances. Instead of giving extra significance to exterior beauty attempt to taking in the entirety of the person. Offering acceptance and compassion in place of opinions and assumptions.
Imagine ~ being a transformational figure in the world. Since I am a visual person I often visualize things that are invisible, creating pictures in my mind. When someone has lobbed a hurtful and on occasion offensive opinion or thought about me I visually transform it as it arrives and turn it into a prism of light, refusing to return a hurtful volley, but instead sending back light and love. I choose to look over the broken fence of their life and let them know I see the beautiful flowers even if they can’t see them themselves.
Hurt people, hurt others. I am not hurt, I learned to heal myself long ago and I pray that you will learn to heal yourself too if you are hurting. And once healed never allow yourself to be pulled backwards, joining them in their pain, but instead allow them to choose; they can continue looking for broken fences and allowing themselves to get hung up on them or hop over the broken fence paying it no mind and join us joyfully in our beautiful garden.
