I received a note last week from an Inner Circle member and after some gracious words about the blogs, she ended her note with words that made my heart sing, “Thank you for everything you do to help me make each of my days more beautiful”.
I hear from people all the time with questions and sometimes nice comments, but those simple words truly sum up why I do this. It lets me know that she gets what I work so hard to accomplish.
You see we all have so many things we must do. Work, cook, clean and do laundry among a long list of “life chores”. Yes it’s true that not everyone feels the need to engage in these activities, but these people are in the minority.
We move through our days, it’s part of being alive, but it is how we choose to move through that ultimately determines the quality of our lives.
We forget that we are all just small bits held together by the glue; love and caring family and friends.
Each of those pieces of our past and bits from each and every day we are alive make us who we are. Those days that seems to fly by without a thought, have in some way added to who we are and leave a mark on us, good or bad.
We forget that each day makes up that which is the sum of who we are and is really in the end, our lives.
Knowing that I can make, what for some is a grey horizon of chores, a little more vibrant by adding in some of colorful pieces is exciting for me. Trying a new recipe or getting ideas on organizing a cabinet are not earth shattering offerings, and bringing to your attention how lucky we are to be here and how important it is to love and care for each other may not change your world instantly.
What you get are pieces, small bits of me that you can add to your days. These are things that I have chosen for my own life and make up what makes my life beautiful.
I don’t just do some research and give you advice or look up a recipe in a book to write about, I make the recipes I post and I like you are trying to know more about what I need to eat to be healthier by adding in the Super Foods. Every book I write and every program I create are the pieces that I use every day of my life.
So now the confession, as much as I would like to think what I do is strictly for you, I have come to realize that knowing that you not only get it, but are using all the pieces, makes my life even more beautiful.
So what I thought I was doing selflessly to help make lives better has really ended up making my life more amazing.
I wanted to thank you all so much for being a part of my Inner Circle. I am blessed to be able to join you on your journey to a more beautiful life, not perfect, just simply beautiful.
