Spring is here so it is time to renew, refresh and reevaluate not just your surroundings, but your life as well.
I love my home and even though I am happy with it, it doesn’t stop me from keeping a list of changes I would like to make and clippings from magazines which serve as visual reminders of the transformation that will take place.
These are directions I want to move in for design and color, thoughts of what I will work towards. Some of these changes may happen soon, some are planned further out and some may never come to flourish ion. But they are thoughts I want to keep fresh in my mind and review on a regular basis.
Some are small projects, things I could change quickly and easily, while others are larger projects that require not only more planning but time and effort to complete. I would never attempt to make all the changes at once.
Not only would my entire life be in disarray but because they are an important I purposefully and carefully want to work towards them. Giving each my attention, enjoying the process and when complete living happily in the midst of what I have chosen to focus on and change.
And so it is when we want to make changes to our lives. Deciding that everything needs to change and then setting about changing all that you feel is wrong would be overwhelming, especially if you had not thought about which pieces were most important. You want to make a list of changes, decide what needs attention first and make a plan.
Not only would it be overwhelming to tackle everything at once but if you hadn’t thought about what you really want in your life you would waste valuable time. The best and quickest route through the forest is by following a map. Wandering around, hoping that you will stumble upon where you want to end up is not the most effective method of getting anywhere quickly. It is true with travel as well as many aspects of our lives.
So do you have changes you want to make? Have you created a personal to-do list and what is at the top? Maybe it is to create a better relationship with your significant other or repair a friendship. It might be time to weed your garden and rid yourself of people who are strangling your growth or maybe you just need time to think about and make your list so you know the direction you are heading in is the direction you really want to put your time and effort into.
So this week take a peek outside and look for a sign of spring. Take a breath of the fresh air and think to yourself, what within my life needs to change? Which of these changes will make me happier and my life more enriched, choose the route you want to take and set out on your journey to make change happen.
